How to Use Your Red Rabbit Pods
Roasted, ground and sealed in Auckland. Here's how to get a proper café-quality coffee out of every single pod.
Will they fit my machine?
Red Rabbit pods fit Nespresso® Original machines. They won't fit Vertuo machines.
The golden rule: one pod, short shot
Use one pod per coffee and always press the short shot (espresso) button. That gives you 30 to 40ml of rich, balanced espresso.
Why short? Push more water through the pod and you burn and over-extract the coffee. That's where bitterness comes from. Short shot, every time.
How to brew
- Warm up. Turn your machine on and let it fully heat. Run a shot of hot water through first for a hotter cup.
- Shake the pod. Give it a quick shake before you load it.
- Load it. Lift the lever, drop the pod in and close the lever firmly.
- Brew. Press the short shot button.
- Eject. Lift the lever to drop the used pod into the container.
Make it your way
Long black
Brew a short shot. Remove the pod, close the lever, then press either button to top up with as much hot water as you like.
Flat white, latte or cappuccino
Brew a short shot, then pour in hot foamed milk.
